I'm personally a greyhawk fan. I'm more so a Greyhawk fan when Carl Sergeant got around to writing 3 sourcebooks for the setting. The best thing about it to me is that it is one of the oldest, and most developed. It is based on real western European themes, with the right about of Magic, Dragons, and glorious Dungeon delving. Nothing to much or way over the top as found in other game settings IMO. All around well concieved, and very well executed setting.

I have always liked Athas(ie Dark Sun) because it reminds me of Arrakis. I have even toyed with the idea of incorporating the Shai Halud into the realm.

Before the Realms got stupid with all their "Chosen" cow flop later on it was a stupendous package. I loved the Land of Fate and I thought Maztika well done, and you've got to remember, those too are Forgotten Realms material.

I would have put up Maztica and the Land of Fate, however there are not enough choices available in the Poll section. I do like Maztica myself... to bad the production values were so low on the FR MAztica stuff. oh well.

I go for homemade worlds. It requires much more work but gives complete freedom on the setting.

I'm choosing homemade world.
I'm also choosing to not post anything about it.
Those who wish to learn more may feel free to join in the Knightfall campaign (My homebrew setting) ;D

It was a hard decision, but I had to choose the Realms, just because of the sentimental value. My first serious game was set in the Realms, and I have played there for nearly 11 years now.
That does not rule out my love for home-grown game settings in the least, due to the flexibility and the freedoms you have in creating your own masterpiece as a game setting. In that aspect, you are only limited by your own imagination. (and any other ideas that others in your group may add)
That being said it really is a coin toss, although I am surprised that no one chose Dragonlance. Even though some of Dragonlance is really cheeseball, there are some fun times that can be had with the setting!

Well it has been may a year but Forgotten Realms does it for me. Im talking the original boxed sets. I haven't had the opportunity to try the 3E or 3.5 editions even though I own the 3E handbook.
The Planescape stuff is pretty cool as well, again though, Im not familiar with the revamps.

I voted for Greyhawk, as that's what we used back in the 80's. I still have the boxed set. I also loved the Forgotten Realms stuff that came our in the early 90's - boxed set and the supplemental game accessories, FR1, FR2, etc. Then I quit playing for about a decade, and I hardly recognize the Realms now. But still great.

I'll stick with the Realms. And yes, Maztica and Al-Qadim are also on the world of Toril (the realms). I have both of those box sets, both of the Undermountain box sets, and the Menzoberranzen box set. I am currently updating two original (Basic) D&D modules (X4 and X5) to 2nd Ed Al-Qadim stats.

Due to my undying love for all things undead (pardon the pun), i must choose ravenloft. I was always fascinated by the darker side of adventuring, so the haunted mood of Ravenloft was perfect. I have some great memories of the various adventures in Ravenloft. Whenever I am DM for a new campaign, I almost always pick Ravenloft as the setting

Although I actually prefer 3.0 edition to 2nd edition, the World of Toril/Forgotten Realms campaign setting is my favorite. Isn't it strange that my online campaign takes place mostly in the World of Oerth/Grayhawk campaign setting?
