Realizing, that he allowed his gaze and thoughts wander, Julian once again turned his gaze to Alexia.
"And General Alexia is a real beauty too..." started to think Julian before he interrupted himself "Concentrate, Jul! You were hired to do the job, and you will do it without allowing any distractions, understood?!"
The slight blush of embarassment, which was starting to appear upon Julian's face was instantly gone, replaced by Julian's usual serious look. Julian continued to wait for any response or orders from Alexia...

As he came up beside Mialee, he noticed that Foster was playing with something other than the stone, "OH HELL!!" the little dragon dropped it as he made a grab, but he was too late as it hit the ground...
BLANG! Smoke engulfed Mourne, Foster, And Mialee rising in grey clouds, "Damn... Little Ryu you should ask before playing with something. It takes me hours to make those... but if you want some ill make it later." he leans over amid the smoke, using his hands to feel for her. As the smoke cleared he made contact... and nearly fell from his saddle as he jerked his hand from her thigh.
~Goddess... now she is going to think im a pervert... Aren't you attracted to her?... Yes, but it's not the time or place for that... Why the hell do i talk to myself?... cause you don't trust anyone... yea... although she may be piercing your barriers... so easily?...~

"Foster!!!" Mialee knew it would have been Foster's fault. ~He's way too inquisitive!!~
She was starting to get used to this. ~I swear today is not my day!! First setting fire to the tree, then Mourne and now i can't see cause of smoke!~
The horse was a little startled by the noise and smoke but coped suprisingly well.
Mialee gasped as someone touched her leg. Then she saw Mourne and his reaction. "You really should keep them away from Foster. You don't want it happening again. Everyone thinks i'm hopeless already. Do you want them to think the same about you?"
She smiled meakly.
Foster wasn't scared by the noise or smoke. He knew it was his fault. ~Mialee won't be pleased about this, i've messed up again.~
He could see better than Mialee in the smoke, and slunk away, to Alexis.

He gave Mialee a warm smile, "Your not hopeless Mialee-san, you just have a few quirks." he turned to stare at the sky his smile fading as his gaze drifted back to earth. He began to remove the armor he was wearing, placing each piece in the bag at his belt. Out of the bag he took a fishnet shirt, hard leather vest with many pockets, and a pair of black, mettalic bracers. He smiled as he slipped each item on, "Preperation is a Ninja's greatest weapon..." he quoted to himself as he inspected the contents of each pocket on his vest. He threw a sideways glance at Mialee, then looked at Foster as he played the staring game with Raven's horse.
~That little Ryu is alot like you were once... i was never like that... you were worse...~

When smoke errupted and engulfed Mialee, Foster and Mourne, Julian immediately acted, without bothering to think first. He not too gently pushed Alexia from the source of the smoke and shielded her with his body, as he reached for his bastard sword and shield.
When after a few moments smoke cleared, that so far nothing seem to be threating Alexia, in fact, all others seemed to be as surprised at smoke's sudden appearance as he was.
It took Julian another few moments to realize, that explosion of a smoke bomb was accident, rather then assassination attempt on Alexia's life. As Julian realized that, he quickly stheathed his bastard sword and put his shiled back behind his back.
"Sorry about that, General Alexia" said Julian as he turned back to Alexia "I though, that it was an assassination attempt on your life, so I had to act hastily and too harsh..."

As the smoke cleared Mialee could see a figure with sword and shield ready.
she froze. She realised it was one of the newcomers, and waited while he turned back to Alexis.
She sat on her horse feeling a flustered and embarassed. ~I'm not used to this. They all look down on me..... I'm not weak~ she growled. ~At least Mournes trying to be nice.~
~The quest hasn't begun and i'm having doubts. I definatley need to try to get on with everyone a little harder. I haven't even spoken to some of them. ~

*As the smoke erupted, Raye jumped into action* Meris, Jups.....search...now!! *The falcon flew up high to see above the smoke and relay its thoughts to Raye. Jups started to circle the party, and finally detected the smoke bomb had originated from Foster. In a posture of stalking, Jups inched up to Foster, growling*
*Raye rode up to Foster* "Back Jups, I've got him. Oye, you.....and what did yer think ye'd be doing with that little toy?"

~Raven scanned the horizon and studied the surrounding area, noteing any allyways, or other places of hiding. At the sound of the commosion Raven spurred his horse around, A small crossbow already loaded and in his left hand as his right dropped the reigns and reached for the sword at his side. He quickly looked for his target only to realize that it was a false alarm. He scowled, cursing under his breath then securred a leather strap over the bolt and tied the bow back within its hiding place beneath his duster.~
Mialee, Mayhap you'd do well to puttin that winged rodent o' yers on a leash. Fo'r it gits us killed.
~kaber turned his horse about without waiting for a retort and rode several paces away so as to keep a better eye on everyone.~

Alexia giggled, and saw all of the group turn to face her.
"I do apologise, I couldn't help but laugh." She watched as everyone regained their composure and waited to ride to the great library. "I am thankful though that you don't have such a high tension among you, for this quest requires not just strength and power but teamwork, the fact that we are all so able to joke is a good thing. Is it not?"
"My dear Julian, assasination attempts are rare but thankyou for your thoughts on the matter." She smiled at him.
~Does he know my true identity?~She pondered as she gazed at him for a second.
"The Great library awaits, it shouldn't take long to get there through the market square and afterwards we shall travel to the village along Cape Claw. I expect we shall arrive by nightfall where we shall rest in preparation for the dungeon tomorrow at dawn." The general was as structured as ever, planning the days events and didn't like to stray from them at all.
Alexia wasn't the kind of general to wait behind people, she took charge of herself and this gave the troops a great deal of respect for her,....as her predescesor was the late King Alexander Daphnes, always being protected and shielded........
~But that lead to his own demise did it not.~ She digressed, ~He was a great man, but a terrible soldier.~ Her eyes seemed to soften at the thought, the small tears welling up.
"Lets go now." She rode off into the streets past the royal gardens as the others followed behind her.
~Pelor, keep my family safe.~ She prayed.

Riding through past the lavish royal gardens you see the main market square.
The streets are full of people and merchants selling and buying but they make way for Alexia and her followers.
The place smelt so fresh and clean, the sparkling windows of the houses refelcted the morning rays, the cobblestone paths echoed the sounds of the bustling morning rush and the hooves of the horses. The town centre had a huge clocktower adorning the left of the city where town meetings were held. Across from that structure was the temple to Pelor, covered in gold and laden with jewels it shone like the god itself....indeeed this was a glorious city.
It wasn't long before they reached the outskirts of the city, the housing for the citizens of Angius were as busy as ever. The children runing off to play in the fields outside the city gates as their mothers cried out to watch to not ruin the crops.....they weren't worried about the orc invaders, the people trusted their army to make sure no one would needlessly die or be in danger by their day to day lives.
Alexia came to a halt outside the great library, a place of quiet and solitude. The wizards coming and going, the poltiticans and advisers muttering to oneanother on the marble steps about the new laws on grain reduction fees to satisfy the public aswell as the hardworking farmers.
As you all get off your horses, you see people staring at you all. A magistrate bows to Alexia as she passes them by, he whispers something to her at which she smiles and thanks him.

"Julian, Raye. I am sorry that you did not have the chance to get some beakfast at the castle. Perhaps you can go and buy some food whilst the rest of you stay here with the horses?" She smiled, you my enter if you wish but I shall not be long.
And with that she walked into the library.
~Hmm, Julian is quite the protector, I just hope that he isn't too into this quest,.....it is important and professionalism must be kept but that doesn't stop us all from being friendly outside of battle.....~She smiled to herself as she entered the library to get the maps for the paths to the great dungeons.

"My dear Julian, assasination attempts are rare but thankyou for your thoughts on the matter." Said Alexia, as she smiled at him.
Julian couldn't help but smile back at Alexia, and instantly his mask of seriousness dissappeared, revealing more friendly and youthful face.
However, in the next moment Julian caught a more serious gaze from Alexia, and his smile instantly dissappeared.
"I wonder, what came to trouble Alexia so suddenly" though Julian, without noticing how he came to call her "Alexia", not "General Alexia" in his thoughts "It seems to be, that Alexia doesn't believe in what she has just said about assassinations. When why... oh yes, she can't show her worry in public. I will keep watch for her, I can't allow something to heppen with her... with both of them for this matter" Julian allowed to cast a short gaze at Mialee, who was being schold by Raven and Raye at this moment "Yes, I will dfefinately do everything in my power to keep them safe, and besides, this is the reason why I was given this job.

"Julian, Raye. I am sorry that you did not have the chance to get some beakfast at the castle. Perhaps you can go and buy some food whilst the rest of you stay here with the horses?" Said Alexia, once they reached the library.
Her words confused Julian for the moment.
"Is it a hint that she would like to be left alone for some time, or is she just show concern over my wellbeing?" wondered Julian.
After a few moments of thinking, when Alexia has already began walking into the library, Julian made a hasty decision and caught up with Alexia.
"Thank you for your concern, Genral Alexia, but I am not hungry" said Julian, allowing himself a little lie "I would prefer to come with you, of course, unless my presence will be a disturbance to you, in that case, I would wait for you outside."

"No not at all, I was just guilty for you not having anything from the castle this morning."
She smiled as she walked further to the library doors.
"Your company would be much appreciated." She smiled, briefly blushing.

"Please, don't worry about me, I am sure that you have more important concerns to think about" said Julian, returning a smile to Alexia, and noticing her slight blush with surprise.
"I wonder, what is that about" thought Julian, as he followed Alexia into the library.
