Nice! Kept me on my toes for the entire time. Let me just say that you're doing a great job DMing btw. This is by far my favorite PBMB of the half a dozen or so I'm in.

I for one will certainly be a lot more wary of illusions in future.

Thanks for the input. You guys have been great so far: just what I was looking for in players. I just wanted to mention that the difficulty will only go up on from here on out. Keep in mind that these were only two hook spiders; one of the lowliest of extra-planar denizens. Despite that, both Spec and K'Zan should be dead from their wounds (a bit of rules manipulation on my part saved you). Just keep that at the back of your minds as a matter of scale from here on out.
Just a suggestion: make up a strategy and try to work together. Any enemy that's even capable of it probably will (especially considering that you're in the Lawful section of the planes).

And this is what I was looking for in a Planescape game. I'll have to utilize all my knowledge of PS and its philosophies from here on.

So, now that you have a feel for how combat is run on the planes, what do you think? Feedback or questions, anyone? That was insane! Lets just say I'll stay as aware as possible from now on. I second that!
You cannot imagine how much time I spent looking through my memorized spells and trying to think of the best way to handle the situation. The first round was the worst, actually, because I was tearing between whom to aid first, and exactly what aid to provide; and looking back at it now, I am glad that I choose against Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere (although you’d probably be merciful and rule that the spider wouldn’t be able to get to Spec quick enough to be caught inside the Sphere… then again, you probably wouldn’t).
Anyway, the combat scene was wonderfully done, and you are truly one of the best DMs I’ve ever played under, EK!
And I’ll try my best not to be so careless in the future… *wink*

That's actually a really good idea to throw out a "sample" of the power of the planes since many people who join up in a Planescape PBEM (or any other PS format game) are actually new to the setting and have no idea what they're getting into. I'll keep that tactic in mind.

Yea, guys! The game is just beginning! You can feel free to post too, Spec. Your character's badly injured, but can probably get to his feet and shamble about a bit.

Sorry, everyone, I was just taking my time considering what to do with a powder, i.e. should I just feed it to K’Zan and Spec, or should I let them sniff it, or should I put it on their injuries, or should I mix it with water and feed them. Currently, I am leaning towards the last option (especially since I have easy access to some fresh water via my Travel Cloak), but it will take me some time to complete my next post. I’ll try my best to complete it by tomorrow (now when I’ve more or less decided on my next course of action), but it may take me a little longer to do so. Once again, I am sorry for delaying everyone.
EDIT: Spec, in your condition it is probably best not to move, at least, until I give the medicine (hopefully, it will heal rather then kill).

Thanks for the update. I would like to emphasize that since this is a stressful situation for your characters, hesitation on your part might result in further consequences. While Selenya is sitting around deciding how to best use the powder, half of the party is slowly dying. Keep in mind that any action is better than no action, especially when in such a time-crunch. I would rather you post something hasty, but with regards to your character's intelligence, than spend days figuring out "the best thing to do". This not only maintains the tempo of the situation, but also forces you to think fast and possibly make mistakes. We're not aiming for perfection here; role-playing is far more important.
With that in mind, please try to post as soon and as often as reasonably possible (waiting, of course, for the response). I usually check this board once or twice a day and will certainly respond to updates.
