Spec roars in rage. His flesh seems to warm up and the air around him begins to shimmer. He throws his cloak back and whips out his daggers, swiping at the invisible force. "Release me!" He looks around the room for a source of fire (if there is one he attempts to use his pyrotechnics ability to make the fire shoot down upon the designs in the sand, hopefully damaging them and rendering them useless).

K'Zan sits down, crosses his legs and stares into space, his face a blank, expressionless mask.

Barely as soon as Spec begins to draw his dagger, a tall, very tough looking elf walks into the tent.
Well, well, well. Look what the Spire dragged in. Fiends be ye? Or sodding ghosts who lost your way in the Silver Void? he asks, almost with a laughing look of sarcasm.

*Piper takes the dagger from the smith, and pulls it out of its sheath, and looks curiously at the metal*
I have never seen metal like this before. You say it's Baatorian green steel? What happens when someone gets stabbed with it?

The smith grins
Well, what would normally 'appen when ye stab someone. The green steel can be forged to a much finer point and turns out to be a lot easier to enchant than normal steel, plus its more durable. I put a minor charm on it to give it a bit more bite. It was going to be presented to the captain with the most kills after the next engagement, but I think you'll need it more.

Spec's eyes snap on the entering elf. Snarling, bearing his fangs slightly; flesh warming the air instantly next to his skin, he looks down but his red and black eyes, filled with rage at being contained, remain locked on the elf looking up. Straining to keep under control, he states,"Release me from this cell." Out of the corners of his eye he looks for any sign of flame or burning embers from within the tent (candles, torches, braziers, incense, etc; If he finds any, and the elf refuses, he tries to continue with his attempt to use his Pyrotechnics ability to use fire to destroy the sand containing the design).

Ha! You take the form of my subordinate, fiend, and you ask for release? How stupid did you expect me to be? laughed Faniel
Spec does not see any nearby flame sources. The material that makes up the tent is thin enough to let in enough sunlight through it.

Selenya didn’t have time to share her observations about the magical barrier, for Spec flew into a sudden fury as soon as she finished examining the glyphs. As an elf entered the room, however, it seemed that there was no need for that anymore.
[OOC:] By the way, is Faniel an elf, or a drow elf?.. His avatar surely seems to hint at the later, oh my! [/OOC:]
”We are not fiends.” Selenya said, realizing that something bad may happen if she won’t take the lead this time. ”We were sent here by Ferrick, a magician, to protect a man named Relik Noren, at quite a haste, I must add. Ferrick also told us that there are people who wish to see Relik Noren dead, and we are to prevent possible assassination attempts.”

*Looking at the dagger in her hand, and getting the feel of it, Piper puts the dagger back into it's sheath and hides it beneath her tunic. Grateful to the smith for his generousity, Piper looks at the smith and gives him a smile filled with gratitude*
I do not know this world, or how much things are worth in it, but I am grateful to you for giving me this weapon, though I cannot take it unless I give you something for it. If you were to sell this, how much would your price be for it?

I do not sell my weapons, nor do I receive a commision, ma'am said the smith I get a work order and I produce that many. Making that particular item was 5 hours work. If you truly wish to repay me, I could use an assistant.

Ferrick, hmm? You've prepared well, fiend. Unfortunately for you, I had the foresight to check on you as well. Be assured, all avenues are blocked. hissed Faniel, eyes narrowing snakily.
<OOC: Faniel's specific elf subrace is hard to determine, but were he on, say, Toril, he would be instantly identified as drow. On the planes, however, there are hundreds of elf subraces, and positively identifying one is not only difficult, but usually won't provide any useful information.>

Spec appears to cool down a bit, and states low but sternly,"I came here to do a job, not to be caged up like a...lab rat. I cannot perform Ferrick's directions in here."

Fool! rasped Faniel, directing his words towards Spec Don't neglect your place. It was I and Naylo who employed you on behalf of the Abyssal League, and it is us you serve. Any obligations you have to Lucius Ferrick are secondary. You are our thrall until released from service. Never forget that.
With that, Faniel inaudibly whispers a word under his breath.
I've lowered the ward. Come. All three of you. he says, turning and leaving the tent.
