Waldo spins around, keeping a warhammer trained on the new archer, in case he appears to be hostile
Hold your fire and submit to us! You will not be harmed!

He lowers his bow and looks at Waldo with hsi elven eyes, "I've come to aid you, but if you insist on fighting an archer from far away..." He leaves an arrow cocked in the bow, but leaves it down, "I have come with ill intent towards you, but if you don't want my help I'll sit back and let you finish him off."

I do not sanction needless killing says Waldo, keeping his eye on the newcomer, but walking towards the sole survivor of the bandit party Do you?

Seeing that he was not going to be allowed another shot and that his morals were being questioned, the elf became irritated very quickly. "If it meant saving lives, yes it would. Yes he is outnumbered now, but he could be in another group of archers later on who kill many others down the line."

Bleeding from the arrow wounds in each shoulder (although not deep, simply intended to cause much pain in the use of his arms, they bleed none the less) the archer manages to stutter out...
Patch said this would be easy..........
Before collapsing to the forest floor. The new archer is obviously not a member of this (so far) all human band that was fireing on you. His pointed ears and short stature mark him as an elf (even to the untraveled). The gleam in his eyes and the accuracy he has shown with his bow would make him a worthy compatriot in the battle to come.
<Knightslayer> Well, I don't think we'll be getting much more outta him now. He'll need a bit of rest before we can question him further on this "Patch" fellow. Hold your fire brother elf. We'll bind him (and his wounds) for now. Where would you be coming from anyway?
<Human Archer> Naught but soft moans and whimpers can be heard from him at this point. As he is quite unconscious.

Putting up his bow the archer answers, "I am Terocian Coroniel. I was heading nowhere in general, just wandering the forest and enjoying the peace of it all when I heard the sounds of battle."

Waldo nods to the elven archer and keeps an eye on him while walking over to the human, looking around for something that might serve as improvisational rope.

Waldo finds some unburnt coils of rope in the remains of the wagon, and along with what used to be the leather reins of the beast that pulled it, manages to bind the Human Archer quite securely to what remains of the wagon's wheel.
<Knightslayer> Coronial? Not from my neck of the woods with a name like that. I take it you are an adventurer of sorts, perhaps an archer by trade? I'm just joking with you of course. I am currently on a quest to rid this territory of an evil beast. A rather nasty red dragon has taken up residence somewhere within this mountain chain. I've been sent by the Lord Mayor of Wilkswood (the city hardest hit by the beast) to recruit adventurers to this cause. I and my new friends here, are travelling towards Aln and the merc. guild there in hopes of finding such folk. Should be about 2 1/2 to 3 days from here if the roads hold out. Care to join the quest? I am to offer a fair share out of half the dragon's horde when he's defeated. (The other half being claimed by my liege to effect repairs to our once fair city and the surrounding towns.)

He looks at him and then at the others and nods, I will join you, but do not think of paying me. I have no use for it when there are others out there who need it more than I. All I need is the clothes on my back, my bow, arrows and food to sustain me.

Then we are comrades in arms and in thought said Waldo to the archer, grabbing the rope and starting to bind up the bandit We should leave this place quickly, there may be more bandits nearby

Balthus adjusts his travelling pack. 'Then we have a formidable force indeed, though success is far from assured. My old master, Rabbanon, fancied himself to be an authority on the race of wyrms, and spoke of the red to be the most formidable of their evil kind. I must admit to be lacking in experience in facing such monsters, but the keen eye and fleet foot of the elves are always welcome assistance.'

<Knightslayer> It will be quite a trek through the mountains to get to where I believe its layer is. Most of the scouts sent by my city didn't return from the particular region we'll be heading into. Shall we continue on to Aln's adventurer's guild or begin the quest with just those of us standing in the clearing?
***Looks around at the two rangers, the mage, and the elven archer***
[glow=blue,3,300]6 against a dragon. Not good odds really, but if we pull together we may just make it. Otherwise, the next group sent after him will have a share in our goods as well as what's already there.[/glow] Knightslayer thinks to himself.
Waldo has no trouble binding the archer. Now you just need to decide what to do with him. Bring him as a prisoner or leave him to the animals

In my opinion, we should head back to town. I'm sure that we can get a bounty on this bandit by turning him in to the authorities, and it is probably best to do some research on this specific dragon, and make sure we know what we're up against, and supply ourselves accordingly

A figure steps from behind a tree, his face thoughtful as he looks at you all. His silver hair sticks straight up, combining that with his ruby red eyes he was a very strange figure. He leaned on a rune covered staff, "Well... I see you can handle bandits, but as... Waldo was it? yes, as Waldo said it takes more than just skill to take on a dragon, especially a red." His tone suggested a mild excitement at the thought of it, but his body language was of mild curiosity.

Terocian pulled out his bow but did not raise it orstring an arrow in it. He stayed silent to let another talk.
