The dark, damp tunnels of the Ribcage underground surrounds you. The dripping of water in the distance mixes perfectly with a slight breeze. What dangers does this hold?

Excellent.... said Faniel, continuing to walk We will be entering a ssssseriess of tunnelss ssssoon. I must leave you now, but the way issss easy.
He reaches into his tunic and pulls out a small, folded sheet of paper, handing it to K'Zan.
The map to thisss area. Be wary. There are rumors of a darkweaver deeper in the catacombssss, though this is, haha, sssspeculation. What is not speculation is the confirmed reports of vargouille packs. Be careful
With that, Faniel whispers a few words, rubs a ring on his left hand, and disappears without a trace.

The tunnel continues forward for quite some time. The tunnel walls echo your voices and your footsteps.

K'Zan frowns at the mention of the darkweaver and vargouilles, and nods to Faniel before the elf disappears. He then attempts to examine the map closely.

<-- To K'Zan only -->
K'Zan notices that the map is not drawn, but written, in the traditional way that the githzerai use to define places and direction in their language. As such, it appears that only someone with strong exposure to githzerai culture can understand this map. He notices that the map is also written with special ink, which appears far warmer than the cool paper, and shows up quite well on his infravision.
The main tunnel appears to go on for at least half a mile before branching out into a series of cappilary tunnels, which eventually converge into a large, open area. Past that is what appears to be a series of interweaving tunnels, one of which eventually leads to a portal that can take you to the surface.

At the warnings of the creatures, Spec turns his concentration to his surroundings and the area ahead keeping his hands on his daggers beneath his cloak.

'A githzerai map? Strange...'
K'Zan turns to the others.
'This tunnel goes straight on for a while. Kaygor, you appear to be trained in war. Perhaps you should go at the front of the group? That would be safest if we came across vargouilles, no?'

Though I still have recollection of modron combat training, I am merely a courier and a researcher. My weapon skill is limited, at best. admitted Kaygor I will take point, however, and relay all warnings to the rest. Please be prepared to react... kill... respond immediately.

For the first time since they had arrived, Canderous speaks. In his usualu deep, but emotionless tone, he states, "I'll stay with Kaygor. He acts as my eyes and I will gaurd him."
Since it was dark, he had no problem with letting a slight grin appear on his face. He was in the leader position once again. IT had reminded him of his days back before he had knowledge of demons, devils, planes and everything else, when he lived a much happier life.
He shook his head and made himself focus back on the matter at hand.

Kaygor reaches into his satchel and removes a small lens attached to a wire loop and a small metallic probe. He pushes it in Canderous' hands.
Canderous, this will help you see in the dark a little bit. Place the lens over an eye and push the probe into the opposite ear. The wire will tighten itself over your head, and you will be able to see in the dark out of one eye. he explained Caution. It may cause some momentary vertigo.

(ooc: bah, this is Spec. Screwed up his account, so am posting with this one until I get Spec's restored...or remade.)
Spec unsheathes his daggers beneath his cloak, keeping his cloak around him and ready for any encounter...hopefully.

”If we expect troubles, I guess some additional protection may be useful.” Selenya said, as she continued down the passage along with everybody else, as usually keeping slightly behind K’Zan ”Personally, I don’t need to be in the front lines to help you should the fight erupt, but some of us will definitely have to meet possible enemies face to face. For them, I would like to provide a little protection. I can think of a couple of spells which will be useful in current circumstances. The first will cover some parts of your body with a magical force, giving you some protection as if you were wearing an armor. Unfortunately, this spell will not improve the quality of an armor you may be already wearing, and so, if you are already wearing an armor better then the one this spell would provide, this spell will be of no use for you. This spell will last for twelve hours. Another spell that I think may be useful in current circumstance will make your skin as hard as stone, granting you a limited resistance to physical harm, like being struck by a sword or being hit by an arrow, however not against magical harm or elements like fire or frost. This spell, however, will last only for two hours. I think, K’Zan, that you will be the most logical choice for the first spell, since as far as I see you don’t wear any armor. As about the second spell, I think that either you, Kaygor, or you, Canderous, will be a logical choice for it, since you are going to walk in the first row."

Canderous takes the device handed to him, and closes his eyes as he puts it on. He opens them, feeling as if he is in a different world. He shakes his head and continues on.
"I'm taking head point, so I would most likely see something coming, if it comes at us dead ahead instead of sneaking up on us from behind. If the spell means that we have to stop, then I pass. I prefer we stay quiet and not disturb anything."
Sounding stern, he conitnues on without hesitation. he may be able to see now, but he didn't like this situation any better than he had before this.

"I agree with Canderous" Spec says matter-of-factly, and continues on behind Canderous attempting to keep in the darker parts of the shadows as possible...as quiet as possible. All the while keeping an eye out for any signs of life other than the group's.
