The disk was no hope,....it was completely useless, yet the original link Linus had gotten it from was proving a sucess: He was back at the main entrance though,...he'd have to sift through the site to get to where he was..... Clicking onto the screen, the Umbrella logo appeared and showed the site was loading.......

The site began to load up and the general links were shown:
Umbrella Blue England laboratory sections;
Lectures. Experiments due. Visits. Data requests. Complaints. General data bank, and personnelle. Budget listings - Directors and project managers only. Umbrella duristictions worldwide.
What will Linus choose,...the link he was originally on was about a Dr Isabelle Meyer,.......perhaps it is best to check out her details before what he was originally going to see which was a document file under her name,....perhaps that document may have a link there in her personel file?
((OOC - okey dokey, it's ok to post now Aylix!))

"Damn... are these people idiots? Keeping all this on a webserver?" He laughed spitefully to himself. He checked the notes he had made and came up with the name " Dr Isabelle Meyer" as the author of the document he had tried to download. He ctrl+clicked the 'Personnel' link to open up what he assumed would be the Personnel list of the company, maybe he could find out something about this 'Trent.' In the first window he opened the 'Experiments' the experiments link out of pure curiosity. He slid back to the screen of the search he had performed about Umbrella and Trent to see if it had come up with anything.

The questions about Mr Trent were useless,....it was like he wasn't even real. The search for Umbrella was terrible aswell, all he could get was sites on the company and information about the new commercial products,...basic general public information and stuff for the media, nothing worth looking into.

Clicking on the Experiments link he was met with a passcode acceptor,....he wasn't going to get in that easily,....this may be an internal website for the Umbrella Blue section of the corporation but still there are some sections only certain employee's could access.

The personnel section he was met with a familiar background:
Dr Diana Apex. Dr Peter Nicohlas. Miss Aefa Eccles. Dr Isabelle Meyer. Dr Joseph Doyle. Mr Francis Ratcliff.
and the 6 familiar names...........

Linus clicked the Isabelle Meyer link without hesitation.
Checking on the screen he shrugged at the password screen and flipped back to the screen with the failed search. He opened a program that would mask his computers activities, diverting the connection through several major corperations first (who would have no idea what was going on) and then opened a brute-forcer. He opened the page that needed a password on the Umbrella site on this screen and targeted the password box on there.1
He stood to get some biscuits from his kitchen and then returned to see how his computer was handling this, glancing at the TV idly.
1 Regina a note on this "brute forcer" if you don't know what one is: Its like a password cracker that first attempts to find the right username to enter by looking in the database of names (which is likely to be encrypted) it then tries hundreds of thousands of passwords that it has in its own database - which are all really common passwords - with the variations such as adding numbers etc. If anyone is monitoring the site this would be picked up fairly quickly and they would start tracing the connection, which Linus has made harder by conecting to the Umbrella site through other sites and servers who would have no idea about it... if that makes sence?

The Tv was showing some daft soap, and didn't seem to be very interesting,.....
the password box was quickly popping up random words:
Ada
buttons
stanley
Sandwich
Plantae
Eukaryotae
Protoctista
Animalia
Fungi
Spectrum
Benzene
1,1,1-trichloroethane
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Cube
chocolate
walnut
hazel
rabbit
quartz
belemnite
ammonite
tiger's eye
jade
diamond
goldeneye
horizon
supernova
red giant
sodium hydroxide
ethanoic acid, sodium chloride and chips.
None seemed to work.
((OOC - *Regina giggles* I loved that last one, true, true!
Thankyou for the info Jace,...I just hope that long list was ok to write,...I mean, they'll all be scientists so some of the passwords had to be scientific.))

Linus watched the password box display password after password, none of them appearing to work. He yawned longly and rubbed his eyes, softly mouthing the words to the current song that was playing. Hoobastank - The Reason... For some reason that song always depressed him... past memories were a biatch sometimes. But sometimes he tormented himself with this song. " I've found a reason for me..." he sang, ...to change who I used to be, a reason to start over new, and the reason is you... and the reason is you... and the reason... is you." The song ended, as works of its kind seem to do, leaving Linus staring blankly at the screen, watching the useless passwords stored in his brute-forcers database. He sighed, fragile crystal saphires around his deep azure eyes. This was a side of him he never let anyone see - a side he couldn't let anyone see. He stood and walked to the bathroom to wash his face again, leaving the computer to do its thing. ((OOC... Linus got sad Weird thing is... that song can have that effect.. its a beautiful song but... The list was fine, probably the sorts of things the brute-forcers database would contain.))

As Linus entered the Dr Isabelle Meyer link he was met with the following sub-links;
Dr. Isabelle Meyer. Contacts. Umbrella Blue contacts. Database
Yet as if by some wierd occurance the file which he tried to download the file which looked like a word document in the files data banks which this Dr Meyer had left there, after sending a copy to the researchers under her authority was loading up,.....not only that it was loading into his harddrive,...........was it a computer virus,.....was this how they caught rebel hackers in Umbrella?
The words:
REPRODUCTION OF SPECIMEN beta - "TREVOR", by Dr Meyer.
came up on his screen,......and then;
.............Wierd?...............

"What the fu..." Linus exclaimed at the pop up that displayed itself across his screen.
He opened his firewall quickly and looked for any unusual IP addresses that may have come from the Umbrella Corp.
Thoughs ticked over quickly in his mind. How did they know his name? What the hell was "project Code: Beta 10"? Who was this "Trent"?
He started a trace on Umbrella's IP address, while going to find this file. It lay meekly in a folder of its own and Linus eyed it warily. What the hell was going on? "you have been selected for our operation" What the hell was that supposed to mean?!
He scanned the file, with a trojan scanner, a spyware detecter and a virus checker. This file was dodgey as sin and he was taking no chances.

The files continued to upload and he was having no luck with his firewalls or virus checks,...the entire thing was as clean as a whistle,...........yet the reputation of Umbrella was far from pure white.
Linus could do nothing but sit back and wait,...the IP address came up blank, this Mr Trent knew his stuff.

Linus sighed and stretched his legs. The IP returned itself to 127.0.0.1, which was the IP for returning to your own host.
He could do nothing but wait... but he knew that probably wouldn't be a brilliant idea. Plus...his curiousity was peaked. He wanted to know what the hell this was about.
