Lorna continues to hold the lantern high, and position herself to watch for any additional foes.
As the rest of the group filters into the room, it becomes clear that the 'lumps' on the ground are bodies.

(Ok so I guess picking up my sword and putting away my bow is standard action? Because this creature seems to have damage resistance VS piercing? Or would it be the same if I used my sword? If answering this question reveals too much about the creature, forget about it.)

((I'll let you drop your bow and grab your weapon from the ground as part of your move action. I feel like you can do something like this haphazardly, and not lose much time. If you were to take care in putting the bow away, or if you had to retrieve a weapon from your pack it would be different. Normally, anyone with a BaB of +1 or more can draw a weapon as part of their move......
So to clarify, dropping your bow, and grabbing your sword from the floor, you can still move, and take a standard action.))

(Coolies, I'll use my sword on this critter then.)
Hazivah watched in horror as his arrow pulverized on the creature's thick hide. Deciding to finish the job by hand he drops his bow, again reminding himself not to forget about it, and charges (well not an actual charge beause Mel is between Haz and the creature) the fiend with the sword he picks up from the ground.

From up close, the creature looks somewhat human in shape and form.
Haz moves in behind Korbach, and comes in from the opposite side of Mel.
(The creature is pressed too close to the wall to be flanked here.)
[1d20]------->(3)
Hazivah's meager poke from his short sword doesn't even come close, but serves at the very least to corral the creature.

The icy being responds with a frosty burst from its mouth, spraying Melisendra and Korbach with ice shards.
Damage [1d4]------>(4) (reflex DC 12 for half)
Korbach reflex save [1d20+1]------->(8)+(1)--->(9) Melisendra reflex save [1d20+1]------>(8)+(1)---->(9)
(it was actually a different D20 for Mel, but same result sorry Mel!)
As both are struck by the freezing ice shards, their skin becomes frostbitten, and eyes frozen. (-4 AC & -2 to attack rolls for 3 rounds.)

The creature looks like its in pretty bad shape, but seems to take comfort from its close proximity to the ice.
As Korbach and Melisendra reel from the icy shock, with Haz looking on trying to get a stroke through, there is a crashing sound and the lights suddenly dim, followed by a brief whimper from Lorna at the cavern's entrance.
((Haz's light as well as Mel's are still in play, but Lorna's light was dropped.))
