Melisendra pauses just before the gates to the Temple of The mind. Turning around she smiles "I am glad you have taken an interest in helping him,Korbach. I would suggest that we talk with the temple here, so we can deal with the cult. They can provide him food, shelter, and allow his body to cast out the poisons within it. I'm sure if we offer a small donation they will not teach him of their..beilefs and you, Korbach can teach him of your deity. He could then help others that are in the situation he was in and before you know it, there could be a temple to..." she pauses,” I’m sorry Korbach who is it that you follow again? I know you have told me, I just cannot seem to remember the name." She gently pats the man on the arm, assuring him that help is near. Looking at the others “this man needs help, as many others around here do. Perhaps with this one man, we can begin to change this city for the better?” She smiles and adjusts the robe on the man, waiting for the others to offer their opinions.

Please do not take offence Melisendra but i think your being overly trusting, last time i checked my evil mind controlling cult handbook it did not include the clause "by the way dont ensalve those that come with a small donation",,,now of course we dont really have any hard proof as to this groups intentions but the magic on the followers could be charms as likely as not and the head priest was how should we say,,,reluctant,,,to give straitght answers to straight questions,,philosophers my fat foot,,is it really worth indangering this mans freedom for an easy answer,,better to my mind to die free than live a slave......were in no great rush so lets take him back to the inn with us, get a bit of his story and perhaps Brun will have found representatives of Cuthbert and they will take him off our hands,,and at worse a few days cold turkey and a couple of good meals were enough to put Korbach on the road to recovery wasn't it my friend?

"The power of Cuthbert purged my soul with fire and stripped the poison from my body when I prayed upon escaping."
"There is a difference however. I was forced to take the drug by our captors. This one took the drug of his own free will. He is guilty of poisoning his soul and deserves to be judged."
"I have not the authority here to judge him or we would not be having this conversation. Using this drug is a crime and one punishable by time in prison. "
((on a side note, since I still have the det poison going, is he carrying?))
"Since we will be meeting one of my superiors in my order soon, I suggest we take this with us and ask him for guidance. I am unfamiliar with the laws and ordinances of this town, although I'm sure they are lacking."
"On the other hand, I will not allow him to be taken to that den of heretics. Would you allow him to be taken to a shrine of Hextor to be sacrificed on their altars? What they will do to him is far worse. To partake in this filth would destroy his very soul. None would take his soul after he dies should he steal from the divine. You would condemn him to forever walk the ground as undead or worse. I cannot allow that."
Korbach crosses his arms.

Lorna "I don't know....I didn't think the old guy in there was too bad. But hey, what do I know, right? Well, I agree with Mel on this one, I think we should drop him off here, or at least with the Oldimarra people across the street, heck whats the worse that could happen?....... and anyway, I'm a bit too ancy to sit around in the Inn waiting for Brun to show up....still, if that's were you want to go, then I guess I'll follow along."

The man slides to the ground, lying at your feet. His belt pouch is clearly empty, and from his sunken eyes, and thin cheeks, his stomach has been empty for some time as well. Although the drug still has a hold of him, you get the feeling he is running a bit low, as the signs of withdrawal can be clearly seen. He doesn't have any of the substance in his possession, or he most likely wouldn't be bothering anyone right now.
Passers-by on the street continue to go about their business, taking little notice of your predicament.

Melisendra scoops the man into her arms and begins to walk back to the inn. "I think Johan has a point about not forcing a religion on this man. I am sure that one of the serving ladies would be happy to care for him instead of the drunks at the bar. Food, water, and rest seem to be what he needs. Perhaps Korbach could give helpful instructions to the lady before we leave. I can take over once we get back for the evening."
"I would suggest that Lorna and Haz scout out the area where the cult is. Johan, Korbach, and I should trail behind, in case trouble arises, back up is always nice to have. Hopefully Lorna and Haz can get an idea of how big the camp is, what sort of sentries do they have, how many, etc. We should not try to make contact at this time. We should have enough daylight left for this and then tonight we can plot out the next step."

When you arrive at the Inn of the Fallen Unicorn, Brun is sitting at a table in the main eating hall and motions for you to come over.
He seems to have broken his diet (just a bit) as there are greasy plates, half eaten sausage and crumbled cheese all over the place.
He nods his head to Korbach, "Well, I um....found your colleague. He's not in exactly the best shape.....to tell you the truth, I don't really think you want to bother with him. He won't be any help to you at all."
"Anyway, I've taken care of all my business here, but I'm going to stick around and keep an eye on Lorna until this business with her mom gets sorted out."

What seems to be the problem with him Brun? Why will he be of no use?

Whilst waiting on the tacturn Brun, Johan heads for the bar giving the "you want a drink too?" point to everyboby (except maybe Lorna)
He hunkers down at the bar in front of the taps and orders the thickest most chunky mead on the menu (plus whatever drinks any of the others want). Whilst the barman pours he strikes up a bit of small talk "Had a bit of trouble here ;ast night aye? bet you had the watch swarming around here all morning."

Brun looks to Korbach,
"Well, old Killian has sort of had a falling out..........look, religion, philosophy, its all over my head, but that guy just didn't look like he's capable of much help to anyone, much less himself. "
Brun pauses, and then adds,
"He was buried pretty deep in the bottle when I found him, if you catch my drift."

The bartender, a robust yellow bearded man missing his left arm, and his left eye proceeds to pour Johan a stout ale.
"Nah, guy was an outlander, not from around here. I don't think the city'll bother looking into it. You aren't from around here either, are ya?"
He raises an eyebrow (the right one) and smiles disarmingly, as he skillfully tops off the ale, despite having only one hand.

Korbach snarls a few muttered expletives.
"This city reeks with the stench of evil. Every day we spend here stains our souls. Bah!"
Turns to Melisendra.
"Well, let's have a look at your new pet. I'll do what I can for him. We can always hope for his redemption. *snort*"
Turns to the old man, "Well sinner, today is your lucky day. You get to put a bit of fire back in your spine and take the first step to restitution. You have sucked from the teat of society long enough and now it is time to repay. Cuthbert judges all who come before him and today is the day of your judgement."
*Bellows out for the proper incredients for the infussion to help the old man*

Takes another drink "But yeah just stopping by, came to see the great trade town,,so of course the bazzar was shut half my luck as usual,,,I gotta say you dont seem to put out by a murder in the inn, wont it be bad for business?

Melisendra locks eyes with Korbach, "Do you not wonder what might have driven your fellow man of St. Cuthbert to his current condition? This man is a living being, who needs the help of others. You say this town is evil, so why not do something to change the tides of it to good, one soul at a time. You cannot complain about something then sit back and do nothing to change it. If you do not wish to help this man willingly, then please leave me to him.” As She gently begins to take the man to her room, she looks over her shoulder to Lorna "Could you bring a bowl of warm water, some clean strips of cloth, and some broth please. I think I have a spare set of travel clothes that will fit him well enough for now.”
