heh, LWW helped me find my path. I am a Magi'i pure and simple. And I'm expecting you to learn, not only of the good, but from any mistakes you make.....most of all, be true to yourself and others, and own up to mistakes if any are made. Whether you believe in the three times law, or that your deities decide if you were wrong or not, if you try a spell which hurts someone, whether by accident, and especially if intentional, it will come back to you, much worse than the way it was sent out. Do not deny what you did, or try to hide it, be honest, and all will work out for the best in the end.

My beliefs are not focused around much, I even do my own rituals. I am an Independent so far since there isn't any covenant around where I live. I live in the same city as Darkwalker to give out a better hint. I lived there all my life though.
I had a teacher, a good one, and I am finding myself more when I am focused on that subject. I have a few things I need to finish like getting intouch with all my Power Animals and Spirit Guides. For now though I am doing a good job, but not the best job.

Thank you Jayce!! I was hoping someone would bring up Spirit Guides, Animal Guides, Totems, Familiars, whichever one feels comfortable calling them. I've seen these names lumped into one category, seen them defined separately, but it's up to the individual to determine the meaning of animals. www.wicca.com has some great information, and here is a book listing too: Wolf Medicine by Wolf Moondance The Magic of Shapeshifting by Rosalyn Greene Totems by Brad Steiger Animal Speak by Ted Andrews Animal Wise by Ted Andrews Animal Magick by D.J. Conway Magickal, Mystical Creatures by D.J. Conway -------------------------------------------------------------------- I have seven guides I rely on myself: Animal spirit guides 1 – wolf – Life Totem (female) – my life; my total being and essence. 2 – falcon (male) – my dream guide; my guide upon the astral plane. 3 – mountain lion (dual) – deals with my emotions. 4 – chameleon (male) – my ever changing/adapting self. 5 – cat - Totem(female) - my magickal and sensual self. 6 – dragonfly (male) – deals with my flights of fancy; my fantastical/whimsical self. 7 – black dragon - Totem(male) – his name is Epsilon; leads me through visualization and meditation;my psychic self.

Thanks for the link LWW. The ancient Egyptian religion looks nice, but I'm FAR too frightened by threats from Monotheistic religions to actually worship it.

ugh so much talking cant read it all but any ways i might like this religon but how do you find out witch path to take or whatever That's some typo Vlad....I am assuming you meant "which" path, and not witch...but then again.....? Finding your own path is as individual as the individual...ok, so now I've confused you even more. Some people know from an early age, I was five years old, and grandma explained to me what I was. Being a natural witch in my family skips every generation, so where grandma and I were/are natural witches, my mom is totally clueless. I worship the Hellenic path because when I was studying Greek mythology in school, the gods and goddesses just kept calling to me. Something about them kept touching my life, and the more I tried to get in touch with them, the closer to them I became. Now others find their paths by reading books, talking with others, going to group discussions, trying out rituals, and just finding what and who calls to them by trail and error. One thing I always stress though, if something just sounds wrong, rubs you the wrong way, doesn't feel right.....get away from it. Chances are, it may just be something not meant for you, or it's something that someone invented and is using to manipulate others. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Cyberpaladin, you're welcome, but you've confused me with your last statement about monotheistic. The Egyptian Pantheon is polytheistic - gods and goddesses.

I wasn't talking about the Egyptian religion, I was talking about today's major religions, such as Christianity; being told by them that you'll go to hell for worshiping other gods/goddesses can really scare someone like me.

I'm not personally impressed by religions, or religious leaders, that intimidate their believers. As to being afraid yourself....well it depends on whether you believe it to be true or not. Pagans do not believe in the concept of heaven nor hell, so those stories of burning in hell.......are just stories.

Vlad: read, chat, and experience. That's the best way to find your path. I was raised Catholic, exposed to Wicca in college, did some time as a Pentecostal, went back to Wicca, and then graduated over to Hellenic Reconstructionism. If it hadn't been for some really odd turns in life, and a lot of intelligent ppl, I'd prolly still be floundering. Instead, I'm now training to be a Theori Hellenic Priest)!
Cyberpaladin: don't worry about heaven or hell. if you don't believe in them, how can they impact your life? Even the oldest Pagan religions have some concept of hell, but unlike the Christians, you really have to earn it. For example, showing eusebia, or severe disrespect, to the Gods of Olympos would land a Hellenic like myself in Tartaros. Cowardice in battle is a good way to land yourself in the realm of Hel if you worship the Norse Pantheon. There is a dark underworld in Egyptian mythoi, Babylonian mythoi, etc. But you have to be a really bad person and seriously offend the Gods to land there. Most Pagan religions don't spend a lot of time on the concepts of the afterlife in the same way modern Christians do. obviously there are exceptions, but generally speaking, many Pagan paths are more concerned with how you live your life today as opposed to how to get you into heaven... it's just not the same focus on life.

So what are some more acturate books to read about pagans. Good question....and the book is only as accurate as the writer has made it. Sorry if this is confusing, but it seems that almost every month, someone is coming out with a new book concerning Pagan beliefs. It's up to the reader to decide if what is written makes sense, is something they believe in themselves, and wish to follow as part of their path. Though I don't follow Wicca, I've read many books dealing with it. I like to keep "up to date", so to speak with other Pagan paths. But here are a few I can recommend for you: Pagan Ways by Gwydion O'Hara Paganism by Vivianne Crowley Wicca, the Complete Craft by D.J. Conway Wiccan Beliefs and Practices by Gary Cantrell (I highly recommend this one) Nocturnal Witchcraft by Konstantinos The Rites of Odin by Ed Fitch (Asatru) Old Stones, New Temples by Drew Campbell (Hellenism) Ancient Mystery Cults by Walter Burkert (Hellenism but dealing more with the "witchy" aspects)
