Waldo nods in acknowledgement
Clergyman, hmm? A fine profession. To answer your question, Terocian and I are companions, de facto, so to say, since we've only been brought together by our quest. said Waldo These woods are perilous. You'd probably be best to stick with us until we reach the adventurer's guild.

As the rest of the party approaches "Waldo's group" they can hear voices, and not just Waldo and Terrocian, there is an unfamiliar female voice seemingly chatting to the two of them.

"Actually, I think the correct term would be Clergy WOMAN." Krystal said, matter of factly, her hands on her hips as she leaned back on the tree. "What kind of quest are you on?" She asked with interest.

My apologies. Our quest takes us to kill a dragon said Waldo, in a matter-of-fact manner A tough adventure to test the body and the mind... if we survive.

I highly doubt death is waiting for us. The elvan man said with great confidence. A thought popped in his mind, Though we may not be properly equipped for the journey. My ranger friend may be able to patch up our wounds, but actually heal...

Krystal smiled. "Well, guess I'm good for something then." She said with a bright smile.-

I wouldn't presume to ask you to do anything. More likely than not, a single attack from such a beast would be more than enough to kill us. What we need more than anything are strong-willed and intelligent allies with the courage to go down valiantly. whispered Waldo, keeping a sharp vigil despite he conversation If you're interested, then adventure with us for a while before deciding - we have no need for foolhardy women who charge into everything headfirst.

Balthus with an inclination of his head, 'I am Balthus, son of Marius, and a mage from the lands south of here. I am honoured that you chose to bring the blessings of your god to our cause. Don't let Waldo dishearten you. One must to be courageous to the point of foolhardiness, but our companion appears to be pragmatic to the point of morbidity. Given the right conditions, even the great worms may be bested.'

Waldo spun around towards Balthus and launched his hand axe. Noticing at the last second that it was his friend, the ranger twisted his wrist violently, throwing the weapon off line and causing it to thud into the ground just at Balthus' feet.
Balthus! whispered Waldo furiously Don't approach a sentinel without announcing yourself! You almost got yourself killed!
He hopped down from the tree, retrieving the axe
Are the others coming soon? We'd best make camp soon he said Krystal, you are welcome to join our camp. You'll be safe from both inside and out. I'll make sure of it.

Krystal smiled, "Sure, besides, it is better than sleeping in another tree." She added, looking at Waldo with a mischevious look. Well... I'll be nice... She thought to herself, refering to Waldo's comment, she had taken it a bit personally. But was mature enough not to be horribly cruel.

Blathus looked not in the least disturbed by the ranger's violent reaction, but recognised that for his companion's skills to have been honed to such a fine point, a certain amount of paranioa and aggressiveness must come with the trade.
He indicated behind, 'The others and the captive should be here any moment now.'

<Knightslayer> The others ARE here Balthus.
As Knightslayer and the rest of the group break cover, a single arrow flies at the group, impaling the captive through his larynx. Blood spurting from his mouth and throat, spraying all nearby as the main arteries are severed, each dying beat of his heart sending a fine spray skyward to be caught in the gentle breeze and blown onto the group. He gurggles a little then drops to the ground after a moment, his heart ceases to beat but the blood continues to ooze from the wound as it congeals around the arrow.
<Knightslayer> What the?
Looking around the group, he can see no ambusher in the twilight, even with his elven vision. The only sounds are the night animals waking from their day-long slumber.

Waldo mumbles something in orcish and hops down from his tree, scanning the terrain and looking for the mysterious archer.

<Knightslayer>
I doubt you'll need to hide Waldo. If whoever shot him was still there watching, they'd of seen you jump down in the first place. Kinda hard to slip out when you're being watched. I can't see anyone about, but whoever it was was a deadly good shot. Even if he'd survived he wouldn't have been able to tell us anything.
I don't think whoever it was stuck around much after making sure their arrow struck home either. While we were caught off guard and watched him die, they probably scooted off to where ever it was they came from.

He might be gone, but it is where he has gone to that interests me replied Waldo, searching the area and hoping to pick up a trail As for my concealment, its second-nature to me to hide during battle. You'll get used to it eventually
