Having left the elf home behind you, you rode in your cart on the muddy road for a few hours. The sun had already begun to break through the clouds, and the downpour that had been, was now just a memory.
As you came around a tight bend in the road, you spotted a short fat man whose wagon had experienced some technical difficulties. The wagon sported the sign "Youferr's Elixirs" and the man hailed you as you approached.
Youferr, claimed to be a dealer of health elixirs, on his way to Toreala, having no way to transport all his wares, he proposed selling them to you at a discount, and returning to Saracen for a new wagon and shipment.
Unfortunately, you are all fairly short on funds, and so Youferr has started to inquire about a possible trade of items of value.....
Hazivah, quick to inspect the damaged wagon, found that the pin which holds the wheel on the axel has broken, but other than that, the wagon appears to be in good shape.
Youferr looked discouraged about the prospect of a trade, that is until he laid eyes on the vase which was given to you as a gift by the elves.
......and so we begin!

Youferr "well, this is a nice looking vase (wheeze wheeze) and I'd uh, I'd be prepared to give you well over its value in trade. Now, my elixirs here...they're good for just about anything, they'll heal ya of sickness, and can even clot a wound. Not as fast as anything from the good brothers of Fharlanghn, but I don't claim to be sellin' no magical potions here. Just good old fashioned remedies. They're herbal, and they work wonders let me tell you!"
With that he puts his hand on his back,as if it were aching, and he straightens himself out, with a smile and a glance up at the sun.
"Cured me of my rheumatism...and these things sell themselves, to be sure. One dose goes for 5 gp, but I'm willing to part with my entire cargo, lets see here......thats um, well, thats roughly 100 units. I'm willing to part with the whole thing for the value of that vase, which I reckon is worth about 100 gp. That'll cover my investment at least, and you folks stand to make a pretty penny once you're in Toreala."
"What do you say to that? And you'd be doing a fellow traveller a favor!"

Johan gets that one eye really open and one eye nearly closed; this is nuts expression,,,he looks to the others as if to say "this guy has all the mercurial sense of a land locked nerid." turning back to the man he says: "Um...(scratchs his head abit) I weren't really serious aboot swapping the vase for all your stuff,ya know, dosen't seem right fair,,,,,how's-aboot if Az can't fix your wheel then ya chuck your stuff on up here (motioning to the space that used to contain two barrels) and come inta town with us,,,,,you pay half the gate tax and sideways us a few of your fine infusions once where there and we'll call it quits ,,,sure to be that you'll find someone in town to port your gear and even come out here and fix your wheel for a bit of coin,,,,,,,,,o' course we'll hav' to hav' a quick peek'a'boo in your stuff just to make sure your not upta anything nefarious o'course. " Johan looks to the others for what they think of this idea and also wonders why he's suddenly channeling english gangsta's when he talks.

Korbach stares at Johan for a short while, fingering his holy symbol, before snapping back to Youferr. "I think Johan's plan is very accomodating. I warn you now though, as a priest of the most holy of flames, I will not tolerate charlatans. To lie is to dampen the fires of purity, and if the fires of purity were to be dampened, well then, we would be forced to stoke the flame."
"If you be an honest man, however, you have nothing to fear. The fires will warm the heart of the believer while roasting forever the souls of the false."

Hazivah inspects the broken pin on the axle and comes to the conclusion that it should be easily fixable. Hazivah turns to Youferr and says "I think I can fix your cart good enough for it to be able to reach Toreala, we just need something to replace that pin. And let's be honest, we ain't no alchemists, I'm sure we can trade that vase for something better than a load of strange brews."
Hazivah jumps on their cart to see if there is anything to replace the broken pin.

johan leans back against the wagon "Oh well, that was a easy fix, yell out if ya need a hand Az" Munches on anything good at hand and contemplates: "stares at Johan for a short while, fingering his holy symbol",,thinks what a great innovation decanters of endless water are and wonders how much they go for at market

Youferr shrugs, hands the vase back, and gives out a slight grunt. "Well, er.....if you think you can fix this cart, I'd be much obliged."
He stands back, rocking nervously from foot to foot, as Hazivah kneels down by the cart.
"Is there anything I should do to help?"
He moves over to the cart, and gives it a slight 'lift' as if he could raise it up enough to free up the wheel. Needless to say the cart doesn't budge from his effort.

Hazivah finds a number of potential replacements for the broken pin; In the end, you decide on the reinforcing bolts on the cider barrels, which look as if they might be long enough. You manage to pry one free of one of the empty barrels, and after sizing up the axel & wheel assembly, you believe you might be able to force it.
Now if you could find a way to lift the cart a bit to free up the wheel for re-alignment.......

(will sufficient people power lift the cart or will something more complecated have to be devised?) Johan stuffs the vase back into his pack,,,he watches the man try to lift the cart whilst he finishes off his nibly.."hold on son we'll sort ya out in a sec" he mossey's over "how come your so nervous by the way friend? (whilst begining whatever will be needed to do the crat) had some trouble on the road?" (sense motives on the answer (and parts of if there are) +6 mod)

((Korbach realizes that a strong back is required and heads over to Hazivah to lend a hand with any lifting or moving))
"This reminds me of my days as an acolyte. We had to perform many physical tasks every day for the priests. There is something refreshing about physical labour. Do you not think so Hazivah?"

"Well I normally prefer to use brains over brute strength, but in this case you're right my flaming friend!" Hazivah thinks back to the Saracen prison, and the miserable memories make him try lifting the cart even more fanatically.
(If lifting succeeds) "Hey Youferr, while we're lifting the cart you put the wheel on, and then we'll put the new pin through the axle"

Your efforts are rewarded, as the cart proves easy enough for the three of you to maneuver. Lorna even pitches in, helping get the wheel in place, and also hammers the new pin in the axel. Throughout the process Youferr looks a bit out of place, tapping his fingers together and giving nominal effort to help.
Johann studies him over with a raised eyebrow (sense motive) and gets the feeling that he just hasn't known a day of hard work in his life. His soft pink hands, and fat belly are testament enough to the easy life he is used to leading.
"Thank you so kindly good friends......I am in your debt. If ever I can repay the kindness, please let me know!"

"Well, one of your brews would be a good way to repay us!" Hazivah jumps on Youferr's cart and glances in the trunk.

"By all means....here, let me give you a convenient five-pack!"
Youferr hands you 5 of the elixirs (bound together by a hemp string) he then walks to the front of the cart, and pulling a carrot from one of his pockets, he feeds the donkey, and then scratches it behind the ears.
"Alright Balthazar, time to get going again....you feel up to it?"
