Well, I've been busy today. I got your xp awards set, and I posted last weeks transcript (finally) Excellent work everyone. Couple of points.
What was the final tally for shares of treasure? I forgot to write it down.
And, Chey, could you please post your character on Profiler, including spells known. On that note, could everyone PLEASE ensure that the character they have posted on Profiler is correct and fully filled out. I'm going to check on them in the next week or so and anything that's not on the character sheet, I'm going to assume that you don't have. That includes cash, xp and magic. So, please, take a couple of minutes and sort out your character sheet. I do not want to see a repeat of last week where I had no idea what a character could do because the player failed to show.
Keep up the great work ladies and gents. The callibre of the game last week was excellent and I saw some real character come forward. That is certainly reflected in the xp awards. Well done all of you.

An officer's share of the treasure was 12,256 GP.
Any idea about the stats on the Long Sword I received from the Steel Giant? I only ask because we play in less than 2 hours. Sorry to bug you about it.
Thanks,
TJJ

Kelly, did you take the Captaining Feat at ninth? If you did, then all checks made regarding the ship receive a +2 circumstance bonus. That includes, but is not limited to, navigation, piloting and crew checks. There are further feats along this tree, Naval Tactics allows you to add your Cha bonus to all profession sailor and artillerist checks made on ship. Might be an idea for later.

Yes I took the Captain Feat. As far as other feats go, I will need quite a few exp. points before I reach 12th level and gain an additional feat. But I have looked at them already for future reference.

Y'know, as a side idea, it might be a good thought for some of you guys to take the leadership feat. That way you would actually get to keep your crew. Sure, you'd still split the treasure, but, at least this way you would see some of it come back around as improved equipment and stuff for your followers. With this many players, it's not too much of a stretch to think you might be able to Leadership a fair chunk of your crew. As an added bonus, your crew might start going up in levels.

I think I have a few more levels to go before I get a new feat, but I'll take Leadership when I get there. Makes sense since Nikkia is the crewmaster.

Palai
I just realized something. Adding to your magical falchion will be considerably more expensive than what your think. When Apoctus tries to add to the sword he realizes that it already has additional powers added into it which you have not yet unlocked.
Without knowing the nature of this additional power, he cannot upgrade the weapon. (I'm going to assume you get the sword identified - knock off 100 gp) After identifying the sword, you realize that it also has the properties of Bane to Animals (makes sense since you picked up the sword on an island covered in dinosaurs). Further upgrading the sword to Keen would actually cost you 18000 gp. Or, whatever Apoctus charges you plus the cost of the scroll of keen.
At least now you know, and yay! The Identify spell has been sorted in 3.5.

Coolness, no problems. Hope your trip goes well.
Thanks for reminding me on the spellcraft thing. I actually forgot that. heh. Even I'm not omniscient sometimes. Tripped up in the details. That bloody Lyre of Building is going to be a real pain in the behind I can see right now. hmm.

There's a few other things about countering that I noticed. First off, the person countering the spell has to be prepared or have reactive counterspell, which is in PGtF. The person on the other ship likly had prepared so thats ok for me. Second, they have to see the spellcasting. Across quite a distance, I'd requier a spot check or just not alow it. Be too easy to mistake the gestures and would be nearly impossible to hear. However, if they had a scrying divice or some other sensor over us, then that would have been ok (Though we didn't get Int checks to discover it if it were). Third, and this is very important, the counterspell has to reach the spellcaster of the spell you want to counter. As such, you can't counter a touch spell with the same spell from across a room, but could with dispel magic. By the same token, the enemy spellcaster would need to be very high level and/or lengthen their dispel magic in order to counter our spells. Even then I'm not sure if dispel magic would reach.
Also, on a similer note, if they were able to notice and counter our spells, why didn't we get an opportunity to at least ID their swift waters spell? If Turj or I had prepared to counter a spell, that would also be another rules sticking point.
On an entierly diferent note, I'll be able to play tomorrow likly, and I'll be back this saturday.
(I don't meen to sound angry or anything else like that. The fact that I'm doing this now, and not during the game shows (I think) that it isn't a whole big deal to me.)
