Maybe the marines could be scouting Captain Bobo when he took off. Kind of secretly following them so we know where they are and what they are doing. Is that possible?

Sorry I couldnt finish the fight-I tried to get back in for about 10 minutes after that and then had to get ready for work. Anyway, thats quite a range on that wand of fireballs.

My schedule will force me to miss every other Weds. night's game. It will start on August 4, but I can attend on July 28th and on August 11th. I hope to have a better schedule or different job as soon as possible, but for now there is nothing I can do about it. Thanks.

Sorry for the quick quit today. Again, baby explosions. Heh. For some reason she saves them up for Thursday mornings. Hopefully she'll grow out of this soon. Heh.
Just as a point about the forest fire. Admittedly, I don't rightly remember exactly how you wanted to start a fire on the Snake Island, but, IIRC, it was using the pitch from the tar pits. Well, considering that nothing you're going to be able to handle is going to come close to approaching a 100 foot long, 20 foot high wall of fire that is so hot that it can kill a normal human at 20 feet away, it's not really surprising that you would start a forest fire on a heavily forested temperate island in mid-summer instead of a tropical rain forest in rainy season. That's why you started a forest fire.
Oh yeah, and one other thing that slipped my mind. That horn that Kelly has. I never said that Kelly could not sell it. What I said was that if it were sold, it would become part of the total treasure haul and be given out that way, same as ALL magical treasure that is sold. Thus, this is why no magical treasure has been sold that you've picked up while sailing. Kelly could sell the horn now without any difficulty.
Maybe in the future, I should deduct the value of magic items from the shares and then you can do whatever you like with them. I thought I was being nice by not including them and letting you keep them without paying the crew for them out of your shares.

The forest fire is cool. I just did not think it would be a problem so I was surprised is all. I apologized to the PCs for almost killing them in the blaze intended to save their lives. Heh....maybe I am their worst foe after all.
No problem on the horn. It has been more valuable and fun than I figured it would be. Besides it is an interesting piece of equipment to carry around.
No problem either on the baby emergency. I apologize for being late. My new job takes 14 hours a day and I fell asleep waiting for the game to start. As I posted, I will now be an every other week player (unfortunately). I hope to have a different job or better hours soon so that I can play full time.

I just got an update from Turjan. Seems he's going to be MIA next week also. That leaves us with Palai, Apoctus, Nikkia and Chey (If he shows). What do you think folks? Perhaps a session where we can set up characters for the alternative campaign? Or trudge on and use the MIA players for bait, I mean, NPC's?

Whoops, didn't expect my bf to stay so long. He's a little distracting. Didn't realize what time it was until he left. I can't find the server so I'm assuming the game's over. Sorry.

Ahh, was wondering where you went to. S'okay, only 2 of my 8 players actually showed up today and one was an hour late. Not like I have anything better to do on a Thursday morning.

A thought occurs about the lyre of building and dispel magic. The lyre would not be supressed by the dispel magic if someone were to try to remove the invulnerability effect with a dispel magic. I'm heavily leaning towards that being a spell effect which is dispellable with a successful check. Otherwise, it becomes way too powerful for an item that cheap. At that price, pretty much EVERY ship in the water would have one. It's a dispellable effect. Granted, I still need to get close enough to dispel, but that's another issue. Grrr, I really hate that thing.

There's a small chance that I might not make it to tonight's game. I had tenative plans to go to a baseball game, but it's absolutely pouring right now, and apparently there's a line of thunderstorms behind it, just waiting to head in. The game's probably canceled, but I just thought I'd let you guys know in case I don't show up.

Something I just noticed in the SRD. Y'know, it helps to read the rules;
That most objects part is going to include hulls and solid parts of ships. Not sails or rigging though.

I think Cold should maybe be cut in half for canvas and rope, they just don't freeze very well. But ya, that's why I took Lesser Acid Orb. Though unless I get Enlarge Spell, it won't have much affect in ship-ship combat.
